The opening is crisp and Mediterranean: bergamot, green mandarin, and nutmeg create a bright, slightly spiced citrus accord with a green, almost herbal edge. The heart shifts the mood dramatically — violet leaf and water notes introduce a cool, ozonic quality, but it’s green and slightly bitter, closer to the smell of crushed leaves than open ocean. The base is where the Elixir truly distinguishes itself: leather, patchouli, vetiver, and labdanum settle into a dark, earthy, resinous accord that is simultaneously animalic and refined.
